What’s better than sipping the newly launched Krug Grand Cuvee 169eme Edition to get ready for weekend? 🥳🥂 attended #KrugEncounters & interacted with Olivier Krug, the 6th generation of Krug & the House of KRUG director, via video conferencing. We covered our eyes and put on the headphones to listen to the musical experience to feel how 169eme Edition is created! With 2013 as base wine & aged for 7 years before disgorgement, it has light gold color, elegant & aromatic, with white flower, honey, dried fruit, almond, ripe peach, gingerbread, citrus, mineral & candied lemon notes, it’s lively & complex. We also tried the intriguing & playful canapes created by Michelin-star chef #UweOpocensky, including eating candles! 😂😂🕯🥂 it’s fun & it matched well! #Cheers! 🥳🥂

試咗剛獲1星米芝蓮嘅L'Envol Hong Kong,多謝靚仔星級大廚Chef Olivier Elzer 熱情款待,送上歡迎香檳竟然係Champagne Egly Ouriet Les Vignes de Vrigny Brut 1er Cru NV,非常驚喜,代表團隊嘅與別不同品味同準備帶比你驚喜美食旅程嘅開始!此香檳乃100% Pinot Meunier(並唔係100% Chardonnay嘅Blanc de Blancs, 又唔係100%Pinot Noir嘅Blanc de Noirs), 優雅而帶白花、檸檬皮、礦物等味道。一定必食係大廚嘅精選海膽紅蝦禮物盒,配上香檳帶出更多海膽嘅鮮味!我亦覺得凍鵝肝雞腳非常驚喜又地道,每道菜都相當精緻,非常賞心悅目嘅美食旅程,我一定會再返嚟!Happy holidays! 😋😋🥳🥂
Tried the new 1-star Michelin restaurant L’Envol HK. Thanks for handsome starred chef Olivier Elzer’s warm greetings with a special Champagne Egly Ouriet Les Vignes de Vrigny Brut 1er Cru NV as welcome champagne! I’m surprised & delighted on the team’s choice, as it represents their unusual taste & it means they’ll surprise u all the way. This cult grower champagne is 100% Pinot Meunier (not 100% Chardonnay/Blanc de Blancs nor 100%Pinot Noir/Blanc de Noirs), it’s elegant with white floral, lemon peel & mineral notes. U must try Chef Olivier’s signature sea urchin box with red prawns. With a sip of champagne, it elevates the umami taste of sea urchin to the next level! I also like Foie Gras/Chicken Feet terrine a lot. What a great twist with local touch! Every dish is a surprise. What a great gastronomic journey! I’ll come back again for sure! Happy holidays! 😋😋🥳🥂

我係晴報嘅酒專欄-「風雨過後變精采的香檳」!試了兩款新推出的2012年年份香檳,包括Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage 2012年及Moët & Chandon Rose Grand Vintage 2012年。2012年的天氣有如過山車般,冬天大雪、春夏不斷有冰薄,夏天更有大雨及熱浪,正當大家以為2012年的收成泡湯之際,8月初天氣開始出奇的好,結果收成雖然少了,但葡萄變得精彩,十分戲劇化。喝著2012年香檳,不禁希望我愛的香港可以好像這香檳般風雨過後變精彩。🎉🥂
My wine column in 晴報 Sky Post newspaper- “Awesome champagne after stormy weather” Tried the 2 newly launched 2012 vintage champagnes, including Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage 2012 and Moët & Chandon Rose Grand Vintage 2012. Vintage 2012 in Champagne was like roller coaster, from snowy winter, hail in spring & summer, to heavy rain & heat wave in summer. When everyone thinks that it’s gotta be a very bad year, the climate becomes awesome from early August onwards. Although the harvest is smaller, the crops r very great! It’s so dramatic! While I’m sipping 2012 vintage champagne, I hope my beloved Hong Kong will be like this vintage to have great future after storm. 🎉🥂
